The Louisiana Beekeepers Association (LBA) will have their 60th Annual Convention at the Holiday Inn Alexandria - Downtown August 26-27. The event will begin Friday morning at 9 a.m. and conclude Saturday at 3 p.m.

• Dr. Juliana Rangel from Texas A&M University and Bob Binnie with Blue Ridge Honey in Georgia will be our guest speakers for the Convention along with other exciting presenters. See below the full agenda for times, speakers, and topics. *Speakers, topics, and times subject to change.
• Vendors with the latest technology and equipment will be present.
• Black Jar Honey Contest - bring a small jar of your honey and see how it compares in taste with others around the state! Please see CONTEST RULES for more information.

Registration Options:

Registration for the Annual Convention is only $100.  Each full registration ($100) may add one guest for $75.  Children under 18 are FREE, but please complete registration for all attending to help us with our records. College students receive a registration price of $25/ticket with proof of Student ID. A one-day pass to the Convention for either Friday or Saturday will cost $40.

Meal Options for the Convention:

There are options to purchase Friday lunch and Friday banquet tickets separately. After registering for the Convention, please click on the "New Registration" tab and select the lunch option, banquet option, or lunch and banquet option. Meals are purchased separately and are not included in the registration fee.

Friday Lunch: $12.00: Consists of chicken salad on a croissant, bagged chips, fruit cup, and a cookie.

Friday Banquet:  A banquet will be held Friday night, August 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Downtown Holiday Inn conference center (the banquet room is adjacent to our meeting room.) The meal is being catered buffet-style by Southern Creations and is $25 per person, which includes a mixed green/fruit salad, stuffed chicken breasts, sliced roast beef with brown gravy, twice-baked potato casserole, rice, green bean almandine, roll, and bread pudding with white chocolate sauce! A Vegetarian option will be available if indicated on your registration. During the banquet, Commissioner Dr. Mike Strain will address the group, then a special presentation by Jimmy Dunkley on 60 years of LBA will be given to be followed by the live auction.

Saturday Lunch: Lunch is on your own. A special luncheon will be held for Club Presidents Saturday Noon. Registration for this luncheon by the Club Presidents is not required.

LBA Membership:

Membership to the LBA is FREE through August 27. Beginning August 28, an LBA membership will cost $20. Please sign up to become a member today and disregard any invoice you may receive automatically through the computer-generated system.
